🎢 Journey Funnel
Track customer progression through lifecycle stages.
Overview
The Journey Funnel visualizes how accounts progress through different stages of their customer lifecycle. From initial onboarding to becoming power users, track where each account stands and identify bottlenecks in your customer journey.
Unlike traditional sales funnels, the Journey Funnel tracks post-signup engagement and helps you understand how customers mature over time.
How It Works
Define stages based on activities, metrics, or custom conditions. Accounts automatically move between stages as they meet the criteria you set. The funnel visualization shows the distribution of accounts across stages.
Creating a Funnel
Navigate to Journey Funnel
Go to Configuration → Journey Funnel in the sidebar.
Create Funnel
Click Create Funnel and give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Customer Lifecycle").
Define Stages
Add stages in order — accounts progress from first to last stage.
Set Stage Criteria
For each stage, define the conditions that move accounts into it.
Configure Stage Order
Drag and drop to reorder stages if needed.
Activate Funnel
Save and activate the funnel to start tracking account progression.
Stage Criteria Types
Define stage criteria using different condition types:
| Criteria Type | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Activity Count | Number of activities in a time period | 10+ activities in last 7 days |
| Specific Activity | Completed a specific activity type | Completed "project_created" |
| Feature Usage | Used a specific feature | Used integrations feature |
| Time-Based | Account age or time in stage | Created 30+ days ago |
| Custom Property | Based on account properties | Plan type = "Enterprise" |
| Combination | Multiple criteria combined | Activity count > 50 AND 3+ features used |
Example Funnel Configuration
Stage 1: Onboarding
Criteria: Account created (default first stage)
All new accounts start here
Stage 2: Activated
Criteria: Completed "first_project_created" activity
Account has completed initial setup
Stage 3: Engaged
Criteria: 10+ activities in last 7 days
Account is actively using the product
Stage 4: Power User
Criteria: Uses 5+ features AND 50+ activities per week
Account is deeply engaged with the product
Stage Movement Rules
Important rules about how accounts move between stages:
- Forward Only — By default, accounts only move forward (Onboarding → Activated → Engaged)
- Backward Movement — Enable if you want accounts to regress when criteria are no longer met
- Skip Stages — Accounts can skip stages if they meet criteria for a later stage
- Real-Time — Stage changes happen automatically during each sync cycle
✅ Tip
Using Funnel Data
Once configured, use funnel data to:
- Dashboard Insights — View funnel distribution on the main dashboard
- Signals — Trigger alerts when accounts change stages
- Workflows — Automate actions based on stage transitions
- Filtering — Filter accounts by funnel stage in list views
- Segmentation — Create segments based on funnel position
